FAQ

+ Can I tour Tendue before booking my event?

We would love to give you a tour of our venue! We know that most people find it helpful to see the space in person and get an idea of where to enter the building, load in, and park. Contact us at hello@tendue.co to make an appointment.

+ What is your capacity?

We can accommodate 60 or so guests for standing, cocktail-style events or seat up to 48 guests for dinners, meetings, and workshops, with the option for guests to bring in additional tables and chairs as needed.

We adhere to these numbers to ensure that we provide a comfortable, welcoming gathering space where guests have room to mingle and enjoy conversation. Exceeding these numbers can compromise the experience we aim to provide. Additionally, as Tendue is located in a mixed-use building, limiting our capacity is part of our commitment to being considerate neighbors and minimizing potential disruptions from events hosted in our space.

+ Do I need extra time for set up and breakdown?

Any time needed for set up and breakdown for your event should be accounted for as part of your reservation. We will provide access to the building 15 minutes prior to your booking’s start time and will open our doors 5 minutes before in order to complete a brief check-in process. We strongly recommend allowing a minimum of 30 minutes for both setup and breakdown, though most guests find that an hour is needed to avoid any rush before and after your event. (Please see below for information on our optional cleanup service.)

+ What is your check in & check out process?

We require customers, or their designated point of contact, to review our check-in list prior to the start of their booking, including an orientation of where things are located within our space. This process typically takes about 5 minutes. Our team will be onsite 15 minutes before the start of your booking and will stay to assist for 30 minutes afterward. Fifteen minutes before the end of your reservation, we will return to walk the space with you and to assist you with loading out.

+ Is clean up included in my rental?

At checkout, the space must be cleaned and returned to the condition it was received in at check-in. Alternatively, we do offer an optional cleanup add-on for $395.00. With this service, we will take care of all the cleaning after your event and you do not need to add extra time for it to your rental.

+ Do I need to bring my own cleaning supplies?

We provide all of the cleaning supplies you'll need to return Tendue to its pre-event condition. The building also provides an onsite enclosure for garbage, mixed & glass recycling, and compost so you may dispose of your refuse during and after your event.

+ Can I add extra time to my rental once I'm on site?

Absolutely! As long as there is no booking immediately after yours, it is typically possible to add time the day of. Please note that any time added same-day will be charged at $100 per hour. If you do decide to extend your booking, please text or call us with at least one hour's notice so that we may confirm availability.

+ Can I cancel or reschedule my rental date?

Cancellations and changes are welcome without penalty if requested at least 30 days prior to your booking. We do not offer refunds or allow for rescheduling if requests are made less than 30 days prior to your booking. All bookings are eligible for refund if canceled within 24 hours of when they were created.

+ Are there any restrictions for food and beverage?

We have no restrictions on outside food or beverages (within OLCC guidelines) and we encourage you to work with your preferred caterer or bring your own food and drink. You are welcome to bring alcohol for private consumption during your event, though commercial serving of alcohol is not allowed.

You are also welcome to bring your own food, but please keep in mind that our kitchenette facilities are limited. No cooking is permitted in the space. We do not have a stove or microwave available; however, warming devices are allowed.

+ Do you offer tableware?

As part of our rental options, we have a tableware add-on for a $195 flat fee. If you decide to purchase this add-on, you will have access to our full tableware collection which includes dinnerware, several types of glassware, flatware, and serving dishes. (See our tableware page for our full list and photos!) All items will be available in the space during your rental. At the end of your event, you’ll have access to our onsite dishwasher for easy cleanup!

+ Does Tendue provide linens or decorations?
Please note that linens, florals, centerpieces are not included in our inventory.

+ Can I bring my own decorations?

Absolutely! You're welcome to decorate the space for your event as long as your decorations are freestanding and not attached to the walls. We have a firm no glitter or confetti policy (including in/on balloons and wrapping paper). Please note that all decorations must remain within the space during your event.

+ What furniture is included in your space? Can I bring additional furniture?

Our full furniture inventory can be found on our site’s floor plan page. These items are always kept within the space and can be arranged to best suit your needs; however, we cannot remove furniture from our space during your event.

Due to our capacity, we do not recommend bringing in additional tables and chairs for seated dinners though we have no policy against doing so. However, we love hosting creative styled shoots and welcome additional furniture and props during your session!

+ Noise limits

Tendue is a space for gathering, celebrating, and enjoying time together, and we want our guests to feel comfortable making themselves at home. As we're located in a mixed-use building, we simply ask that everyone be considerate of our neighbors, particularly during regular business hours (7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Saturday). On the rare occasion that noise levels need adjusting, we'll approach the situation courteously and in the spirit of cooperation so that everyone can continue enjoying themselves. We also ask that guests treat the building's shared spaces with care and consideration.

+ Where do I park?

Tendue's entrance is located on SE Division Street at 10th Avenue, at the west end of the historic Ford Building. For directions straight to our doors, enter 1042 SE Division St into your GPS.

Street parking throughout the neighborhood is free, including directly in front of Tendue. Just be sure to check posted signs for weekday rush-hour restrictions.

Paid parking is also available directly across the street at SE 10th and Division.

A little parking tip: We recommend avoiding the paid lot behind the Ford Building when possible. Passing freight trains can occasionally block access from SE 11th Avenue for extended periods, making it difficult to enter or leave the lot.
